Hertz car hire is one of the car hire companies with branches at Cardiff international airport. Being one of the largest and more luxurious car hire companies they offer a good range of cars for hire. For example, their smallest car class, the ‘A Class’, means you can get hold of a Fiat 500 for your hire – a much more classy car than offered by other competing car hires who will often offer a Ford Fiesta or Ford Ka. Going up through the classes they also offer a Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Focus, Ford Mondeo (both these available in different body styles, such as estate or saloon, and with different engine types and sizes), Ford Fusion, and 3 different types of vans and a minibus or people carrier should you need them.

Prices of the car hires are reasonable at Hertz Cardiff Airport branch, starting at around £100 per week for a car hire – discounts can be had for booking online, but for some of the larger cars and vans you may need to ring up to check they are in stock and reserve them over the phone. There is a place on the website to put in promotional codes should you have them, and these are well worth considering since they can save you a lot of money on the cost of your hire.

If you want to reserve a car hire online from National Car Rental, here’s a step-by-step guide for you to follow:

-Choose your home country from the “Where do you live” drop-down box.

-Type “Cardiff Airport (CWLT01)” into the “Pickup Location” box.

-Choose your pickup date in the two “Pickup Date” drop-down boxes.

-Choose your pickup time from the “Pickup Time” drop-down box.

-The National Car Rental website should have autofilled the “Dropoff Location” box with “Cardiff Airport (CWLT01).” If for some reason it didn’t, manually enter it yourself.

-Repeat the steps you followed for your pickup date and time for the “Dropoff Date” and “Dropoff Time” boxes.

-Finally, click the green “Reserve Now” button.

-At the top of the next page that loads, you will see the following message in red:

“Airline and Flight Number are mandatory at this rental station”

-As you look down the page, you will see an “Emerald Club Member” section, as well as an “Optional Rate Information” section. If either section applies to you, fill them in now.

-Otherwise, skip to the “Flight Information” section, where you need to enter your airline and flight number.

-Click the green “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

As long you entered the correct airline and flight number, National should now display a list of their available car hires for you to evaluate, and decide which one best fits your needs and budget.
