Typical. They say to always read all of what you’re getting, and you hear stories about booking mishaps but you never think that it’ll happen to you. Anyway, we had it all planned, the hotel in Cardiff in the middle of summer a few minutes’ walk from the castle and the city centre so we could sightsee and shop to our hearts’ content. So, we got on our flight into the airport without any problems and got all our luggage sans issue. We decided to get the bus into Cardiff but there were a few different routes so we went to the information desk to ask which would be the best bus to get. To our surprise they said none of the buses would do. Our hotel wasn’t in Cardiff at all, but in Ely! In my excitement to book the holiday I’d searched for hotels within 20 miles of Cardiff and liked the place so much that I booked without a second thought. A disaster! With all preconceptions about my holiday seemingly going up in smoke I didn’t have a clue what to do. We trudged out of the airport and saw Cardiff Airport Car Rental. Our saviour! We were able to hire a car cheaply and quickly so we could get to our hotel very easily. They understood our problem and were very helpful. Thanks to them we were able to drive in to Cardiff every day and do everything that we wanted to do. And the hotel was lovely!

A great place to visit while you are in Cardiff is the University. If you have hired a car then it should not take you too long to get there. The University is impressive to look at with some very old and beautiful buildings as well as open grass areas where students can relax on sunny days. It is set in a central location of the city and the buildings are among the tree lined avenues of the city which are known for their beauty. It is lovely to just stroll around this part of the city and admire the street design and the architecture of the buildings.

If you are looking ta the University as a place of study rather than just for its aesthetic qualities then you will be interested to know that it is considered to be one of the best teaching and research universities in the whole of Britain. It covers a large number of areas too such as humanities, science, engineering and technology preparing its students with the necessary information to pursue a good profession. A great deal of students go on to study for more qualifications once their courses have finished. It is also very encouraging to know that statistically students are more likely to be successful in their studies than in other Universities.

So whether you are looking at Cardiff University as a place of historical interest and beauty or as a potential place to study at, it is worth actually visiting to experience the atmosphere of the place.
